iRide.2020.01.06 Afternoon delight
As I rode into the Copper Rock golf course development in the mid-afternoon I thought I had surprised a criminal gang trying to pinch (Brit. informal: steal) Mollies Nipple. Later, on my ride home through the Hurricane Fields, I realized that it was actually a duly authorized crew installing a waxing gibbous celestial body in preparation for the Wolf Moon event four days hence on Friday.
It was a delight to be out riding today. The fine weather had tempted more people outdoors for a ride or a walk than I usually see at this time of the year. As the local and regional infrastructure and services expand in our area it is just a matter of time before a critical mass of professional bicyclists discovers what a great base this would make for living, training, and holding team camps.
Imagine an early morning ride when you might be tooling along the Southern Parkway and you overtake the winner of the latest edition of the Tour de France! If it happens, try to maintain some dignity and don't act like a schmuck.
