iRide.2020.02.01 Goldenhour
Today was an arduous trudge. There are amateur athletes living locally who can run faster over the same distance that I bicycled at a funereal pace. If I had been in the urban area I might have expected to be arrested by the police for curb-crawling. That is not to say that my ride was not a joy in many respects other than my woebegone athletic performance, but merely to admit that I was not having one of my better days.
When the golden hour was well advanced, I stopped to rest and to admire that beautiful light in the quiet of the early evening. Two youngsters were zooming up and down their long driveway on mini-motorcycles. One of them was so small/young that his motorcycle had training wheels! Both riders handled their machines with an easy competence and it was a pleasure to see them having so much fun with such a grown-up activity.
