iRide.2020.02.12 Bigwigfix

A work crew was washing the road as I passed through the Copper Rock golf course development. When I worked in the construction industry that usually meant a bigwig visit was imminent. The roundabout with the waterhenge had been tidied and landscaped with gravel and palm trees. The water cascade was in full flow down the rock plinths and even from a distance on the road to Sky Ranch it looked eye-catching against the sun. The 'Copper Rock' sign is back on the retaining wall behind the cascade, but does not seem to be fully installed.

I watched the construction machine operator building those retaining walls. It is intricate work using rocks of a variety of shapes and sizes that are carefully pieced together like a 3D jigsaw puzzle. I was impressed with the skill of the operator and the appearance of the finished job.

The water feature displays a sign for UR&E (Uinta Rock & Excavating) of Salt Lake City. Unfortunately the only webpages that worked for us when I visited were the home page and contact pages. The website navigation-bar suggests there might be an album of other water features that the company has built. I will check back: if they fix the website I will do an update in a future post if they add the Copper Rock installation.
